  1. SWEEEEEET!
I h ad doubts when I read the specs back in may, but now I’m all in. It’s lightning fast, even for android apps (judging from the videos). Now get it on and send it, dammit!

  2. Impatiently waiting for mine!
I was in the 450 first ones, but couldn’t make it to Helsinki from Paris in the middle of the week.

      • I’d guess the shipping will start this week, as they promised – if they want to hit their timeline getting the 100€ club their phones within 3-4 weeks, as they stated.

You’re treated by your order number (mine are 796 and 2810).

  3. and which is my password???
    rootme like in meego….???
there is some most important applications that i never saw on the jolla’s video… like a filesystem browser and commands shell (bash or sh??).
    there are exist???

  4. Hey,

developer mode isn’t working anymore. In the beginning it launched normally with terminal etc. Now nothing happens. Not even after booting the device. Any help?

  5. There is only one catch.. the rsync command has -av and –ignore.. double dash is mandatory with –ignore but rsync won’t complain if you give only one dash.. it just does something else.

  7. Installed it just now and updated to Google Play Store APK 4.5.10, so far it works very well. This newest version seems to be much more stable than the 3.1.36 version as listed (was experiencing android-apps crashes before update).

  9. Thought I’d share a few things about doing this with a Mac.
Since Macs don’t notice Jollas connected by USB, I had to use an adapter to connect my SD card to the Mac (you probably could also put it in an Android phone and connect that) to transfer the System folder to the phone. Then it’s a simple job in File Manager to copy the folder from the SD card to the home folder.
I was also a bit puzzled about the SSH part, but I typed all the command codes straight into the phone’s Terminal.

Quite great to get this up and running, there are a good deal of apps I need to make Jolla viable as a main phone, and none of them were attainable without Play Store.
Hope paid apps will also be possible soon.

  10. For minimal-gapps installation with enabled Playstore do the following:
    1. extract Phonesky.apk, GoogleLoginService.apk and GoogleServicesFramework.apk from /system/app-Folder in the gapps-jb-..-signed.zip
    2. copy the three apks to /opt/alien/system/app-Folder (for example with cp- or rsync-command as devel-su in terminal)
    3. reboot the phone
    4. install the Phonsky.apk (Playstore is now installed)
    5. start Playstore and login …

    Hope this helps anybody.
